Dear friends of Israel:
Who is really behind the attempt to break the Israeli blockade? At a first glance there does not seem to be an easy answer to this, but it becomes more and more apparent that Turkey and/or the Turkish government is responsible for these activities. Unfortunately the Turkish government seems to be ready for a shift into the Islamic camp. The political change in this country is also becoming evident by its seeking closer ties to Iran. After the "bloody massacre" at sea, as the storming of the flotilla by IDF troops was called by the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, he declared in a speech to the parliament: "Today we have arrived at a turning point in history. Things will no longer be the same as they were before."
What is the meaning of these fateful words? Apparently Erdogan has already decided on the direction that the relations of his country to Israel will take. By the way, after the IDF operation against the Hamas in Gaza he made a similar remark. He said: "The things that Israel does in Gaza will lead to its own destruction." These are nearly the same words that his Iranian friend Ahmadinejad uses when he repeatedly demands the destruction of Israel.
Commentators in Israel are well aware of the problems that may be caused if Turkey really drifts off into the Islamic camp. This is why a newspaper article appeared under the following headline: "Israel must keep Turkey in Western camp". The author uttered the hope that the government of Prime Minister Erdogan might be a passing phenomenon. Should this not be the case, Turkey would be on the fast track of becoming a copycat Iran. Until the Islamic Revolution of 1979 Israel had close diplomatic and military ties to Iran. However, today the Islamic Republic has become Israel's worst enemy. Israelis are clearly reluctant to talk about such a scenario and its consequences. If Turkey really became a member of the so-called "axis of evil", an incalculable threat to the North of Israel would arise in the same way that the prophet Ezekiel predicted in chapters 38 and 39 of his book. This development is a further proof that the end-time events mentioned in the Bible are approaching.
Sharing with you the fascination with the topicality of the Word of God, I am sending you a warm Shalom,
